International Tax Analyst / Senior Consultant – Shanghai

About the role

Deloitte China Tax and Business Advisory is looking for an Analyst or Senior Consultant to join its International Tax team in Shanghai. The role focuses on U.S. tax advisory and compliance for corporate and high‑net‑worth clients, supporting cross‑border transactions and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with U.S. tax consulting projects, including restructuring, M&A due diligence, ESOP planning and high‑net‑worth individual tax planning.
• Prepare and review U.S. federal and state corporate, partnership and international information returns (Forms 1120, 1120F, 1065, 5471, 8621, 8992, etc.).
• Calculate and review current and deferred tax provisions and communicate results to clients.
• Research complex tax issues using BNA Portfolio, CCH and other tax software, and draft reports with identified risks and solutions.
• Support FATCA and CRS compliance for financial institution clients, including sample checks and annual reporting.
• Liaise with U.S. tax authorities on client matters and provide technical guidance to senior staff.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of U.S. tax regulations and international tax concepts.
• Strong analytical and research abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and support senior managers on complex engagements.

Required skills

• Preparation of U.S. federal and state corporate tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120F, 1065).
• Preparation of international information returns (Forms 5471, 8621, 8992).
• Tax provision calculations and deferred tax accounting.
• Tax due‑diligence and advisory for inbound/outbound transactions.
• FATCA and CRS compliance experience.
• Proficiency with tax research tools such as BNA Portfolio and CCH.
