ECU System Engineer (Embedded Software)

About the role

Bosch is looking for an ECU System Engineer focused on embedded software to lead the full development lifecycle of automotive ECU solutions, from requirement analysis to production support.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze system and software requirements, decompose them into ECU system and software requirements and ensure traceability.
• Participate in ECU and software architecture design, create detailed embedded software designs including low‑level drivers (MCAL/BSW), application software and HW/SW interface definitions.
• Integrate ECU software, manage build processes, implement bootloader flashing, integrate communication stacks (CAN, CAN‑FD, LIN) and UDS diagnostics, and conduct bus testing and system‑level debugging with CANoe.
• Support hardware reviews (schematic and PCB), validate peripheral configurations (ADC, PWM, SPI, I2C, UART, DMA) and assist prototype builds, calibration, HIL bench and vehicle validation, production introduction and customer issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronics, automotive or software engineering.
• More than 5 years of automotive ECU development experience covering system‑level and embedded software work.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑disciplinary HW/SW technical coordination and solve system‑level problems.

Required skills

• MCAL and BSW development.
• CAN, CAN‑FD, LIN communication stacks and UDS diagnostics.
• Bootloader implementation and flashing procedures.
• Use of CANoe for bus testing and system debugging.
• Hardware/Software interface definition and peripheral configuration (ADC, PWM, SPI, I2C, UART, DMA).
• Experience with schematic and PCB reviews, HIL testing and vehicle‑level validation.
