About the role
The Chinese Restaurant Manager leads all aspects of the restaurant’s daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences that align with luxury hospitality standards. This position combines team leadership, financial oversight, and close collaboration with the kitchen to deliver memorable dining experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations and maintain a strong floor presence, especially during peak periods.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the restaurant team to achieve high‑quality service and departmental goals.
- Plan staffing levels, create duty rosters, and manage manpower deployment.
- Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints with professional service recovery.
- Monitor service quality, cleanliness, ambiance, and colleague grooming standards.
- Drive revenue growth through upselling, promotions, special events, and innovative dining concepts.
- Collaborate with the Chinese Kitchen team on menu implementation and seasonal promotions.
- Track departmental performance – revenue, expenses, labor costs, and inventory – to meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify training needs, conduct coaching sessions, and foster a high‑performing team culture.
- Maintain strong relationships with Culinary, Banquets, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, and other hotel departments.
- Support VIP functions, special events, and other operational projects as assigned.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a Chinese restaurant, luxury hotel, or international hospitality brand.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and guest engagement.
- Good understanding of revenue management, cost control, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- Positive, service‑oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with restaurant POS systems.
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards.
