Utility Engineer

About the role

The Utility Engineer ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant utilities and auxiliary facilities that support heat‑exchanger manufacturing. This role drives maintenance and improvement plans aligned with the company’s safety, quality, delivery and cost priorities. It also participates in new equipment introductions and energy‑optimization projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair core plant utilities such as low‑voltage power distribution, HVAC, high‑pressure compressed air, RO and cooling water, gas, lighting and building infrastructure.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of lifting and transporting equipment, ensuring 100% compliance and availability for production.
• Manage energy consumption measurement, data collection, analysis and continuous improvement projects to reduce electricity and compressed‑air costs.
• Support the introduction of new production equipment (presses, vacuum brazing furnaces, testing rigs) from a utilities and facility‑preparation perspective.
• Plan, assign and follow up daily work of maintenance technicians and develop comprehensive preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Maintain spare‑parts inventory for utility systems to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• College or bachelor degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Valid Low‑Voltage Electrician Operation Certificate; special‑equipment management certificates (A3, A5, A8) are a strong plus.
• Hands‑on experience with high and low voltage power distribution systems and TPM implementation.
• Proficient in office software and CAD; good written and spoken English.
• Familiar with continuous‑improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma); Green Belt certification is advantageous.
