Tax Manager

About the role

Flexport is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead statutory tax compliance and reconciliation across China and the broader APAC region. The role combines hands‑on filing, advisory, and process‑improvement responsibilities in a fast‑growing global trade technology company.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and file all required PRC statutory tax filings (CIT, VAT, stamp duty) for China entities, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Lead the annual CIT reconciliation and statutory tax filing process, responding to tax bureau inquiries and audits.
• Oversee APAC tax reconciliation, partnering with regional finance teams to resolve discrepancies and report tax positions.
• Advise business stakeholders on APAC tax compliance, new transactions, and process improvements, including automation opportunities.
• Liaise with external accounting firms, tax agents, and advisors, managing scope, quality, cost, and timelines.
• Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and support indirect and direct tax matters across the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• 5–8 years of China tax experience, preferably with exposure to APAC regional tax matters; Big 4 background is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of PRC tax laws and familiarity with tax regimes in other APAC markets.
• Practical experience with transfer pricing documentation and indirect tax compliance.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with external tax agents and advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
