Supplier Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with the Technical Supplier Discussion (TLG) team, purchasing, and marketing to ensure that Bosch's suppliers deliver components that meet strict quality specifications. This role is based in Nanjing and focuses on proactive quality planning, supplier audits, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Support TLG activities to identify and mitigate potential supplier risks.
• Collaborate with purchasing and marketing to qualify new suppliers.
• Coordinate Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) and develop inspection plans.
• Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and preventive quality planning to meet program metrics.
• Drive PPAP approvals in line with project timelines.
• Conduct supplier process audits and manage follow‑up actions until closure.
• Lead Supplier Quality Improvement Projects (SQIP) and Supplier Enabling Projects (SE).
• Manage claims, collect failure costs, track 8D resolutions, and provide 8D training when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in supplier quality management or internal quality management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly, casting, machining and heat‑treatment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949/VDA 6.1) and environmental/occupational standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
