Senior Software QA Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Software QA Engineer within Global Digital Factory ECO, you will ensure the quality of modern web applications used by BASF Coatings and external customers. Working in an agile DevOps team, you will contribute to reliable, performant, and user‑focused digital products through systematic testing and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Define test strategies and design automated testing solutions for functional and non‑functional quality goals.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites (functional, regression, performance) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to validate new features, identify defects early, and support automated testing.
• Test modern web applications, cloud solutions, and REST APIs using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, and JMeter.
• Participate in monitoring, performance testing, and quality‑related DevOps activities for production stability.
• Document test strategies, cases, results, and quality insights for transparency and maintainability.

Required profile

• Degree in computer or information science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 + years of professional software quality assurance experience.
• Experience creating test plans, test cases, and structured testing documentation.
• Strong defect identification and reporting skills for web, cloud, and API applications.

Required skills

• Automated testing frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Testing tools: Postman, SOAP UI, Gatling, JMeter.
• Programming languages for automation: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
• SQL database knowledge.
• Understanding of microservice architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps testing integrations.
