Senior Product Designer

About the role

Duolingo's Design team partners with other designers and cross-functional teammates on features across its mobile apps, website and communications. This Senior Product Designer role helps shape friendly, intuitive experiences, from polishing learner flows to supporting campaigns and community moments. The role is based in Beijing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prototype simple, playful learning experiences for the Duolingo app
• Lead large work streams across the team independently
• Act as a peer leader and mentor across Duolingo Design
• Work with other designers and artists to expand Duolingo's design language
• Partner with engineers and product managers to define what is built and how
• Consider animation, copy, UI and business impact in every detail

Required profile

• An online portfolio featuring simple consumer mobile apps
• Experience shipping products at scale in a product organization
• Ability to explain work and decisions clearly and concisely
• A strong appetite for feedback and comfort solving hard problems in ambiguous situations

Required skills

• High-fidelity prototyping
• Visual design and attention to interaction details
• Exceptional candidates: knowledge of AI and LLMs, deep understanding of brand, motion and animation skills, and a track record of career growth

What we offer

• Base salary supplemented by equity compensation
• Salary range of 804,949 to 1,088,971 CNY
