Senior Mechanical Development Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of handheld medical and consumer electronic devices. The role owns the mechanical architecture, ensures robust design for usability, reliability and manufacturability, and supports products from concept through mass‑production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 3D CAD design, tolerance analysis and detailed drawing creation for plastic and metal parts.
• Drive DFM/DFA with suppliers, support tooling development, trial builds and mass‑production ramp‑up.
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, industrial design and quality teams to meet thermal, vibration, drop and environmental robustness requirements.
• Lead mechanical verification testing, failure analysis and optimisation with suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing engineering.
• 8+ years of experience leading mechanical development from concept to implementation, preferably in regulated medical‑device environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work globally with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• 3D CAD (Creo 8.0 or higher), tolerance analysis and detailed drawing creation.
• Design of plastic and metal parts, DFM/DFA, tooling development.
• Finite element analysis for static and dynamic stresses.
• Design of experiments, rapid prototyping, Six Sigma DFSS.
• Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485.
