Senior Legal Counsel – Transformation of Industry China

About the role

Join Siemens Energy’s Transformation of Industry business in China as a Senior Legal Counsel. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, guiding strategic decisions across sales, project execution, procurement, manufacturing, services, partnerships and corporate matters while ensuring legal and compliance confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal and compliance partner for the Transformation of Industry China unit, advising leadership on strategic, commercial, operational, corporate and regulatory issues.
• Lead the review, negotiation and approval of customer contracts, supplier agreements, settlement agreements and strategic cooperation arrangements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks, providing practical guidance aligned with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Collaborate with compliance, finance, procurement, sales, project management, HR, EHS and tax teams to deliver business‑focused solutions.
• Manage disputes, claims, investigations, regulatory inquiries and external counsel while fostering a culture of integrity through training and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in China with strong knowledge of international commercial legal practice.
• More than 10 years of post‑qualification experience in a multinational corporation, leading law firm or similarly complex environment.
• Proven experience supporting commercial contracts, project businesses, manufacturing or industrial operations, dispute resolution, compliance and corporate governance.
• Deep understanding of anti‑corruption, antitrust, data privacy, export control, sanctions and third‑party risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, drafting and presentation skills in both Chinese and English, combined with sound judgment, resilience and strong stakeholder management.
