Senior Field Applications Engineer - Edge AI MPU

About the role

NXP is looking for a Senior Field Applications Engineer in Shanghai (Pudong) to support its application processors, AI accelerators and related solutions. The engineer drives demand creation and customer design-in activities together with NXP's business lines, provides technical expertise to the sales team and works with the NXP technical community to solve customer issues and give feedback on future product roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

• Work with sales and marketing teams to promote NXP MPU/SoC and DNPU (Discrete NPU) products and their vertical solutions to customers.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers and coordinate projects to ensure customer success.
• Provide technical support for customer product designs based on NXP products.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience in machine learning, LLM and agentic AI.
• Good spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of operating systems, including Linux kernel, device drivers and BSP development.
• Embedded hardware and software development experience.
• Plus: ARM Cortex-A cores or heterogeneous platforms, Android or QNX, and automotive ecosystems such as AUTOSAR, MCAL and functional safety.
