Senior Engineer, FR & Electrical Testing Lab

About the role

The Senior Engineer will support the FR & Electrical Testing Lab in managing UL Yellow Card, UL DAP, EN 45545‑2 and other certification activities for engineering plastics (EP) across Asia Pacific. The role ensures test harmonisation, quality management and provides technical support to R&D, production and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage UL Yellow Card for all A‑PMA products, including creation, maintenance and related FUS activities.
• Plan and execute UL DAP accreditation audits and corrective actions.
• Coordinate EN 45545‑2 certification applications and product list management.
• Oversee other certifications such as CQC, handling applications, renewals and plant audits.
• Drive EP test harmonisation across QC and R&D labs, qualifying third‑party testing services.
• Document know‑how on certifications and support regional/global teams on UL, EN 45545‑2 and test harmonisation.
• Maintain the lab’s quality management system (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and comply with EHS standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in material science, polymer science, analytical or polymer chemistry.
• 5+ years of experience in polymer material evaluation/testing and flame‑retardant/electrical testing.
• 2+ years of formulation development experience on EP materials, preferably flame‑retardant.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and ability to present technically in Mandarin and English.

Required skills

• Tensile, flexural and impact testing.
• Flame‑retardant tests such as UL 94, CTI, GW.
• Electrical tests including dielectric strength, surface and volume resistivity.
• UL Yellow Card, UL DAP, UL ID analysis and Follow‑Up Service.
• EN 45545‑2 certification processes.
• ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 quality management systems.
