Senior Architect System and Development Engineering

About the role

Join Philips Avent’s Mother & Child Care Business as a Senior System Architect in the emerging BabyTech space. You will lead the technical execution of IoT‑enabled smart parenting products from concept through launch and post‑market support.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage end‑to‑end product requirements, verification and validation for system, subsystem and component designs.
• Lead design, analysis and testing of hardware and software integration, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, OEM/ODM partners and internal factories to drive robust DFSS‑based product development.
• Conduct Design FMEA, CTQ flow‑down and risk assessments, and drive continuous product quality improvements.

Required profile

• University degree in physics, mechanical/material engineering, bio‑engineering, electronics or product design.
• 5+ years experience in regulated product development, preferably in medical devices or consumer electronics.
• Proven ability to work with international project teams and external vendors in the Far‑East.
• Fluent English communication skills and willingness to travel within South China (~20%).

Required skills

• Systems Engineering and requirement management (DOORS).
• Consumer electronics integration: thermal management, EMC, wiring, PCB and display.
• Connected product expertise: embedded software, Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi‑Fi.
• Use of dFMEA, CTQ, risk assessment, statistical engineering and design for reliability.
