Senior Accounting Analyst – Finance Operations

About the role

Amazon is looking for a highly analytical Senior Accounting Analyst to join its Statutory Support Center in Beijing. The role focuses on month‑end close, statutory compliance, and financial reporting across APAC, partnering with corporate accounting teams to deliver accurate and timely results.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end activities, including sub‑ledger closing, general ledger reconciliations, and balance‑sheet analysis.
• Prepare and share month‑end flux analysis for P&L and balance‑sheet accounts, explaining variances to stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve financial policies, internal controls, and documentation.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, including GST tax return and sub‑ledger reports, and address identified issues.
• Coordinate with external auditors, respond to audit queries, and ensure smooth audit completion.
• Drive GRC compliance and internal‑control enhancements.
• Support new business and system launches, including user‑acceptance testing of accounting entries and financial reports.
• Perform ad‑hoc analytical and process‑improvement tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience.
• 3+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical experience.
• 4+ years applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
• 4+ years creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
• Proven ability to identify, lead, and execute improvement opportunities.
