Sample Planning Engineer (In‑house Sample Coordination)

About the role

The Sample Planning Engineer is responsible for coordinating and constructing in‑house samples for Bosch Powertrain Systems. This role works closely with project leaders, engineering, and production teams to ensure timely delivery and high quality of sample parts.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process in‑house sample orders from the SAP/eBAS system.
• Verify technical document availability and confirm lead times with the PMO.
• Communicate actively with project leaders on sample timelines, identify risks and escalate issues promptly.
• Prepare materials and fixtures according to BOM requirements for PPD, IPN plant, and series parts.
• Arrange sample construction with relevant resources (MOE, ENG, PPS) to meet on‑time delivery and quality standards.
• Manage conflicts for orders with limited time or material constraints.
• Plan budgets for sample tools, EWAK, and related equipment.
• Define and maintain quality measurements such as FMEA, CP, and work instructions.
• Lead problem‑solving activities for sample production and support shop‑floor continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• Systematic thinking, strong analytical skills and logical reasoning.
• Excellent communication, cooperation and influencing abilities.
• Target‑oriented mindset with willingness to accept challenges.
• Fluent English (oral and written) with basic presentation skills.
• At least 2 years of experience in production planning, SE engineering or supply‑chain management, preferably with project exposure.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly and testing.
• Basic knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Interest in AI concepts and Python programming is a plus.
