Research scientist for Power Electrolyzer

About the role

Bosch is seeking a Research Scientist to drive innovation in power electrolyzer technology. You will lead the investigation of electrolysis bottlenecks, evaluate local materials, and guide projects from concept through validation for global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse technical bottlenecks of electrolysis such as degradation mechanisms, mass‑transfer issues and material fatigue.
• Identify and define high‑impact research topics that improve product performance.
• Lead evaluation of domestic materials and assess their impact on stack performance and longevity.
• Manage end‑to‑end technical projects, including scoping, experimental design, data analysis and final validation.
• Optimize large‑scale electrolyzer stack design, assembly and maintenance processes.
• Act as a technical advocate, challenge assumptions with data‑driven evidence and shape strategic direction.
• Summarise research gaps and independently initiate R&D projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of electrochemistry and ability to collaborate with specialists.
• Proven track record of solving complex technical problems with minimal supervision.
• Professional proficiency in English for documentation and global communication.
