Reliability Engineer

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join a cross‑functional team that designs, tests, and delivers consumer‑centric hardware products. You will develop and apply reliability methodologies, work closely with internal teams and external partners, and support product qualification from prototype through production.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage reliability test plans, including resource allocation and schedule assumptions.
• Implement validation items, adjust testing based on issues, and track problems from creation to closure.
• Lead DFMEA, debugging, failure analysis, and DOE activities.
• Develop test methodologies to reduce cycle time and increase coverage.
• Assess reliability risks and escalate critical issues to management.
• Support US reliability testing from prototype to post‑production.
• Lead second‑source qualification and handle factory escalations.
• Collaborate with OEM/ODM partners and qualify components manufactured in China.
• Travel extensively across China, Asia, and the United States to support testing and training.

Required profile

• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience or equivalent in hardware product development.
• Proven experience with prototyping, validation, root‑cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Strong English communication skills for interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
• Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or a related field (or Bachelor’s with 5+ years experience).
