Regional Category Manager – HC

About the role

The Regional Category Manager (HC) will lead the material category strategy for the Shanghai region within Bosch Group’s global procurement network. This position combines supplier development, cost optimisation and risk management to ensure a reliable supply of complex mechanical assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the assigned category and region in an international team.
• Establish and implement the material category strategy.
• Identify, qualify and onboard new international suppliers through market research.
• Conduct price negotiations and maintain long‑term purchasing agreements.
• Act as product expert for the category and serve as the main contact for cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Perform material cost analysis and build an optimized supplier pool.
• Analyse supply market trends, manage supply chain risk and conduct regular business reviews.
• Mentor suppliers and drive continuous improvement in the supplier portfolio.

Required profile

• Fluent English with strong cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Six or more years of sourcing or strategic purchasing experience, preferably with complex mechanical assemblies.
• Strategic thinking, target orientation and a proactive, adaptive attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
