About the role

DNV – Maritime is seeking a Project Manager Approval to join its Pre‑contract & PMA section at the Technical Centre China (TCC) in Shanghai. The role focuses on delivering plan approval and pre‑contract services for new‑building projects within the global shipping industry.

Key responsibilities

• Support pre‑contract and sales activities, including bidding processes.
• Lead the full project lifecycle—initiation, planning, execution, and close‑out—for new‑building plan approvals.
• Collaborate with sales teams and customers to align project expectations and deliverables.
• Manage internal work orders between the new‑building region and global approval centres.
• Coordinate communication between internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Identify and propose improvement opportunities, escalating critical issues to management.
• Participate in initiatives for key clients related to specific ship types.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pre‑contract and sales activities in a maritime or shipbuilding context.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end project processes for new‑building plan approvals.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with internal and external partners.
• Capacity to propose process improvements and address critical project issues.
