Project Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Project Logistics Specialist supports the end‑to‑end management of project freight, ensuring client satisfaction and smooth execution across truck, rail, sea, air, and barge modes. Working directly with customers, you will build relationships, improve efficiency, and leverage C.H. Robinson’s technology to optimise supply chains.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all project files for inbound and outbound shipments across multiple transport modes.
• Negotiate rates, develop carrier strategies, and select appropriate carriers.
• Create billing templates and project reporting tools for logistics coordinators.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contacts at various levels within client organisations.
• Monitor insurance compliance, reporting, and claim settlement.
• Address critical issues with client representatives and propose solutions.
• Manage customer expectations using SOPs, KPIs, and account‑specific metrics.
• Conduct regular business reviews, analyse market data, and identify growth opportunities.
• Travel to client sites as required, including extended on‑site periods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (minimum); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of project logistics experience.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (up to 100% for off‑site specialists).
• Self‑motivated with the capacity to manage small to medium projects independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
