Professor – Biomedical AI & Big Data

About the role

We are seeking a Professor to lead the newly established Biomedical AI & Big Data Research Group at the Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The position combines academic leadership with cutting‑edge AI research applied to clinical medicine and biological discovery.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage a multidisciplinary research group focused on AI applications in biomedicine.
• Design and lead projects on multimodal large language models, genomics integration, and virtual cell simulation.
• Supervise graduate students, post‑doctoral fellows, and research staff.
• Secure external funding, publish high‑impact papers, and present at top conferences.
• Collaborate with national and international institutions and industry partners.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• Post‑doctoral experience with a strong record of first‑author or corresponding publications in top AI or medical imaging venues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead research teams and obtain research grants.
• Experience in computer vision, medical imaging, bioinformatics, or related biomedical AI domains.
