Product Solution Architect – Academic & Government (China)

About the role

As a Product Solution Architect for Academic & Government customers in China, you will lead early‑stage technical engagements, translating business needs into scalable, cloud‑based data solutions. You will act as the bridge between Elsevier’s global product portfolio and local customer scenarios, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers at early sales stages to capture business goals, technical constraints, and IT landscape.
• Lead solution investigation, decompose technical requirements, and assess feasibility.
• Translate business problems into executable technical solution options and produce architecture documentation.
• Understand customer system architectures, data‑governance frameworks, and regulatory constraints.
• Design integration pathways for Elsevier products in China‑specific contexts.
• Lead the architecture and design of Large Language Model (LLM) applications and evaluate integration with local AI ecosystems.
• Design data integration between Elsevier products and customer systems.
• Produce proposals, proofs‑of‑concept, demos, and technical feasibility assessments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical engagements and solution design for enterprise customers.
• Strong understanding of large‑scale data platforms and cloud‑based architectures.
• Familiarity with AI/API integration and LLM application design.
• Ability to navigate data‑governance and regulatory requirements in China.
• Excellent communication skills to act as the primary technical interface across sales, product, and architecture teams.
