Process Development Engineer – SMT Optimization

About the role

Bosch Group is seeking a Process Development Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of surface‑mount technology (SMT) processes for components produced in Suzhou. You will ensure that component processability and reliability meet product requirements while driving continuous improvement across production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise SMT processes, adjusting design and process parameters.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for new and existing processes.
• Analyse production defects, identify root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce internal defect costs.
• Collaborate with quality and production teams to resolve quality issues, propose preventive measures and assess associated risks.
• Support component release by verifying processability and reliability against specifications.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, material engineering or a related field.
• Experience in process development, optimisation and quality‑case problem solving.
• Familiarity with metallurgy‑related topics and SMT manufacturing.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC and ISO.
• Fluent English communication skills and a proactive, innovative mindset.
