Paste Engineer – Pigment & Paste Operations

About the role

The Paste Engineer supports the local Pigment & Paste Owner in China, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations of pigment and paste activities. The role combines operational support, cross‑functional coordination and data transparency to drive quality, cost competitiveness and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Pigment & Paste Owner with daily pigment and paste tasks, including root‑cause investigations.
• Prepare analyses, reports and documentation to support decision‑making within the PSM framework.
• Align Chinese pigment and paste activities with global PSM processes and standards.
• Coordinate actions with production, C‑Labs, procurement and suppliers, and track follow‑up items.
• Support pigment paste localisation projects by organising testing, collecting data and documenting results.
• Maintain and update local overviews of the pigment toolbox, paste portfolio and intermediates.
• Identify consolidation opportunities and propose improvements to the Pigment & Paste Owner.
• Assist with EHS compliance, audit preparation and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher.
• Minimum three years of experience in the coating industry.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to investigate root causes.
• Good communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Commitment to EHS standards and continuous improvement.

• Chemistry knowledge.
