Partnering Manager - Emerging Biopharma (Path Labs)

About the role

Roche Diagnostics Solutions is looking for a Partnering Manager for its Emerging Biopharma Partnering team (Emerging Biopharma, Path Labs) in Shanghai. The role leads new business development for Path Labs and is accountable for Roche's Global Personalized Healthcare Solutions incremental revenue from the Path Lab portfolio. It reports to the Head of the PHCS Pharma Partnering team and works across the organization. Travel is estimated at 25%.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, drive and create relationships with new and existing emerging biopharma partners, sourcing and onboarding new partners and building a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Lead new business development and contracts management for the Path Lab Customer Area portfolio serving global customers.
• Set objectives and develop business strategies to increase penetration of external emerging biopharma accounts.
• Maintain a pipeline of new business and qualified leads across all diagnostic testing modalities.
• Research emerging business trends and recommend key target companies for business alliances.
• Work with project and CAP/CLIA lab leadership to ensure projects are delivered on quality and time, and collaborate with legal, regulatory and development functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in sales, partnering or new business development.
• Proven track record of strategic partnerships, including pre-contract negotiations and post-contract alliance management.
• Experience establishing contracts, pricing strategies and monitoring contract fulfilment.
• Preferred: advanced degree (MBA or PhD), corporate business development experience, and prior companion diagnostics or pharma partnering experience.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of worldwide pharmaceutical and in vitro diagnostic markets, including regulatory environment and technologies.
• Understanding of diagnostic testing modalities and immunohistochemistry, with the ability to advise partners on technology options.
• Comfortable with a scientific background related to pharmaceutical and diagnostic products.
