Operations Officer

About the role

The Operations Officer will ensure smooth import, export and domestic operations for World Courier in Shanghai. Working closely with the Customer Service team, overseas offices and external clients, you will coordinate all operational issues to maintain high service levels and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls following World Courier standards and enter complete, accurate data into the proprietary system.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve any issues, and keep customers informed of delays.
• Verify that packaging and refrigerants meet travel requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain complete and accurate import/export documentation and paper trails.
• Coordinate with vendors, airlines and agents to achieve cost‑saving opportunities while ensuring service quality.
• Participate in warehouse activities such as labeling, pre‑conditioning and packaging preparation.
• Support supervisors or managers with additional duties and periodic weekend/holiday rosters.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, transportation, business administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics operations, transportation coordination, shipment tracking or customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with World Courier’s proprietary logistics system.
• Knowledge of cold‑chain handling and regulatory compliance for shipments.
• Data entry accuracy and ability to manage documentation.
