Operations Officer

About the role

The Operations Officer will ensure the smooth running of import, export and domestic logistics for World Courier in Shanghai. Working closely with the Customer Service team, overseas offices, clients and agents, you will coordinate all operational issues to maintain high service levels and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls following World Courier standards and enter accurate data into the proprietary system.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve issues, and keep customers informed of delays.
• Verify that packaging and refrigerants meet travel requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain complete and accurate import/export documentation and paper trails.
• Coordinate with vendors, airlines and agents to achieve cost‑saving opportunities.
• Participate in warehouse activities such as labeling, pre‑conditioning and packaging preparation.
• Support supervisors or managers with additional duties as needed, including weekend and holiday rosters.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, transportation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics operations, shipment tracking or customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Cold‑chain knowledge for handling temperature‑sensitive shipments.
• Proficiency with World Courier’s proprietary logistics system.
