About the role

The Financial Technology Thrust at HKUST(GZ) is seeking outstanding scholars for open‑rank, tenure‑track or tenured faculty positions. Candidates will join a trans‑disciplinary hub that integrates finance, computer science, economics and engineering to address emerging challenges in FinTech.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead independent research programs in financial technology.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in FinTech‑related subjects.
• Secure external research funding and collaborate with industry partners.
• Contribute to the growth of the Society Hub through service, mentorship and interdisciplinary projects.

Required profile

• PhD in FinTech, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Economics, or a closely related field.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier journals or conferences.
• Ability to conduct cutting‑edge research across any area of financial technology.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching and academic service.
