MVR Design Engineer 1

About the role

The MVR Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed design schemes and manufacturing drawings for major assemblies. Working closely with other technical groups, the role ensures that designs are functional, cost‑effective and meet all quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce design schemes from initial concepts and feasibility studies.
• Prepare product and component designs in line with the quality control system.
• Create manufacturing drawings and data that comply with specifications and standards.
• Perform basic calculations to support design objectives.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose, cost‑effective and manufacturable.
• Collaborate with the project team to meet agreed timelines.
• Apply current department instructions and standards to all design work.
• Raise operational issues promptly and work with supervisors to resolve them.
• Develop an advanced understanding of manufacturing methods and incorporate feedback into documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (master’s preferred).
• Minimum 2–3 years of design experience in a related industry; vacuum industry background is a plus.
• Fluent in reading and writing English.

Required skills

• Expert CAD proficiency.
• Experience with automated design packages, specifically 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor.
• Solid‑modeling techniques.
• Ability to produce manufacturing drawings and perform basic design calculations.
