Mechanical Process Engineer – HW Asia Center

About the role

The Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE) will support Project Kuiper, Amazon’s initiative to deliver broadband via a large LEO satellite constellation. The role works closely with teams in the US and China, driving mechanical part manufacturing, decorative processes, and supplier performance throughout the product development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop mechanical part manufacturing and decorative processes.
• Review and create part and sub‑assembly process flows, including fixture concepts and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations.
• Monitor supplier process capability through continuous engagement and engineering studies.
• Provide design feedback and tolerance recommendations to suppliers.
• Drive and approve technical data documentation such as First Article Inspection (FAI), CMK, CPK, GR&R, and DFM.
• Resolve technical issues at supplier sites throughout the development cycle.
• Travel domestically and internationally to supplier locations as project needs dictate.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes for plastic and metal parts.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including data analysis and statistical methods.
• Familiarity with GR&R, Design of Experiments (DOE), and on‑site work with manufacturers and suppliers.
