Mechanical Development Engineer

About the role

Lead mechanical design and develop high‑volume handheld personal health and medical devices, delivering parts, systems and solutions that meet user and business requirements. You will own the full mechanical development lifecycle, from concept through mass production, ensuring robust, high‑quality designs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 3D CAD design, tolerance analysis and creation of detailed drawings.
• Design plastic and metal components such as housings, frames, seals and mechanisms.
• Drive DFM/DFA activities with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Support thermal, vibration, drop and environmental robustness testing.
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, industrial design and quality teams.
• Lead mechanical verification testing, failure analysis and optimisation with suppliers.
• Support tooling development, trial builds and mass‑production ramp‑up.
• Provide input for project planning and estimate development effort.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience leading mechanical development from idea to implementation.
• Proven design experience in electro‑mechanical products and material selection for mass manufacturing (injection‑molded, sheet‑metal, assembly).
• Technical leadership in multi‑discipline projects and strong communication skills.
• Experience with technical problem solving, documentation and requirement flow‑down.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Six Sigma DFSS (certification preferred).
• Experience in a regulated environment (medical devices) and familiarity with PLM, FDA QSR and ISO 13485.
• Fluent English, logical thinking and a detail‑oriented, inventive attitude.
