Manufacturing Engineer – Optical Sub‑Assembly (Shanghai)

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will develop and maintain methods, operating sequences, and processes for the fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies in the optical sub‑assembly area. You will collaborate with other engineering functions to release product improvements and new products while applying lean principles, automation and continuous‑improvement techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fabrication methods, operating sequences and processes for parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies.
• Coordinate with other engineering functions to release product improvements and new products, managing manufacturing engineering projects as needed.
• Lead design‑for‑excellence (DFx) activities to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality.
• Determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Develop test procedures, evaluate test results and assess work methods, procedures and policies.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for assembly or system‑testing issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 4‑7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge and technical problem‑solving ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to explain complex information clearly and build consensus.
