About the role

Concordia International School Shanghai seeks a dedicated Mandarin Teacher to deliver high‑quality language instruction to students learning Chinese as a mother tongue or an additional language. The role involves fostering linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and academic growth in a collaborative school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Mandarin lessons that meet curriculum standards.
• Assess and communicate student progress to parents and guardians.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curricular units.
• Participate fully in school‑wide activities, meetings, and professional development.
• Support the social and emotional development of all students with professionalism.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language Literature or Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
• Chinese national teaching certificate.
• Minimum four years of classroom teaching experience in a school setting.
• High fluency in Mandarin; strong spoken and written English preferred.
• Preference for candidates who are Chinese nationals and have international school experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with student database systems such as Aspen.
