Manager V, Customer Engineer – Semi (Shanghai/Zhejiang/Jiangsu)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior manager to lead customer engineering activities across Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. The role oversees financial forecasting, service agreements, start‑up projects and ensures high customer satisfaction for semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑up, warranty and service agreement businesses.
• Identify and pursue service agreement opportunities in collaboration with marketing and sales.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost, and oversee local inventories and RMA procedures.
• Maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets and manage system start‑up and warranty costs.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service performance and system reliability.
• Interview, hire and train customer engineers to support regional business.
• Promote safety practices, develop engineering skills and identify managerial talent.
• Escalate system downtimes promptly and achieve guaranteed equipment uptime.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of concepts within the engineering and service domain and related job families.
