Manager - Data and Analytics

About the role

HSBC is seeking an experienced Manager to lead data and analytics initiatives across its customer, product, channel and interaction datasets. The role focuses on building predictive models, improving data pipelines, and delivering actionable insights that drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Explore, cleanse and transform large volumes of data on GCP and Hadoop platforms.
• Develop cross‑sell and next‑best‑action analytics, including propensity, uplift models, segmentation and eligibility rules.
• Engineer features from CRM and behavioural signals to enhance model performance and interpretability.
• Build prototypes using Python and SQL, and create decision‑ready dashboards in Looker.
• Partner with CRM, product and business stakeholders to define use cases, success metrics and test‑and‑learn approaches such as A/B testing.
• Communicate modelling approaches, assumptions and outcomes to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Translate insights into implementation‑ready artefacts like scoring outputs, business rules and targeting lists.
• Drive automation and modern tooling, including AI/LLM‑enabled methods, while maintaining strong engineering discipline.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in banking analytics or data science.
• Strong understanding of CMB products, CRM processes and customer engagement.
• Proven end‑to‑end delivery of recommendation, propensity or uplift models.
• Track record of converting data into measurable business impact.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Python programming.
• Proficient SQL for large‑scale data analysis.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem.
• Dashboarding with Looker.
• Version control using Git/GitHub.
