Local Division FP&A Analyst

About the role

As a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst within ABB’s local division in China, you will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis activities. You will collaborate closely with division, business line and product line managers and controllers to gather data, produce insightful reports and help drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial reporting, business planning, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring data accuracy through reconciliation and exception review.
• Conduct variance analysis and other data analyses to provide actionable insights and identify performance trends.
• Assist in developing and monitoring annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Support creation and maintenance of financial models for scenario evaluation.
• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualise financial metrics.
• Automate standard reporting and analysis processes using Power Automate, Power Query and AI tools such as Copilot.
• Participate in ad‑hoc financial projects and analyses as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business finance, operational controlling or accounting.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction.
• High motivation to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on process improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial modelling and data analysis.
• Experience with SAP ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Power BI for dashboard creation.
• Knowledge of Power Query and Power Automate for data transformation and automation.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot for enhancing reporting efficiency.
• Competence with Microsoft Office suite.
