Local Business Line Controller

About the role

The Local Business Line Controller will act as a finance business partner for a specific division, supporting the Business Line Manager and leading the local finance team to optimise financial performance across the assigned area.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business planning, rolling forecasts and annual budgets, translating corporate strategy into measurable targets.
• Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives to achieve budget and forecast objectives.
• Ensure high‑quality financial data, compliance with group accounting policies, SOX, US GAAP and ABB internal directives.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, guaranteeing timely and accurate reporting.
• Identify and communicate commercial and financial risks, supporting risk‑management reviews.
• Guide, motivate and develop finance team members, fostering talent and capability building.
• Share best practices and lessons learned across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting and reporting within an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance, US GAAP and group accounting standards.
• Ability to work on‑site and collaborate with global and local stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
