Lecturer in Professional Practice

About the role

The Joint Institute of the University of Waikato and Hangzhou City University seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Professional Practice to teach Computer Science courses within the Bachelor of Design (Interface Design) programme. This full‑time position is based on the Hangzhou campus and involves delivering high‑quality instruction in English to a culturally diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for core computer science topics.
• Supervise student projects and assess coursework, including programming and design assignments.
• Design, mark, and review assessments aligned with the BDI curriculum.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the programme.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science (Ph.D. preferred).
• Minimum two years of full‑time teaching experience at the tertiary level.
• Proven ability to teach in English to students for whom English is not a first language.
• Experience or familiarity with teaching in China or Asian contexts is desirable.
