About the role
The International Meridian Circle Program (IMCP) seeks a Lead Expert in Geospace Science to join its headquarters in Beijing. This senior position will guide the development of a global geospace super‑observatory, integrating ground‑based observation facilities across multiple continents.
Key responsibilities
- Lead scientific strategy for ground‑based geospace observations and space‑weather forecasting.
- Coordinate the design, deployment, and operation of new observation instruments.
- Foster collaboration among international research institutions and manage open data‑sharing initiatives.
- Mentor junior scientists and drive interdisciplinary research on solar‑terrestrial coupling.
Required profile
- Internationally recognized achievements in geospace science, especially ground‑based observation.
- Demonstrated expertise in the coupling mechanisms of the solar wind with magnetosphere, ionosphere, thermosphere, and upper atmosphere.
- Strong publication record and reputation within the global scientific community.
