Industrial Designer (Shenzhen)

About the role

Formlabs builds professional 3D printers for designers, engineers, researchers, manufacturers and artists. Its Industrial Design team creates accessible, productive experiences and communicates the brand's values through beautiful, functional hardware. You will work with designers, engineers and scientists to shape a growing class of products, and must share a portfolio or website showing your work.

Key responsibilities

• Make interactions with the products great experiences
• Prototype continuously and test designs with users through interviews and surveys
• Manage the full hardware user experience, from unboxing to maintenance
• Turn ideas into products people love, from concept to production
• Develop design concepts with clear, compelling visual communication
• Create high-quality CAD to communicate design intent
• Work closely with Product, UI Design, Engineering and Manufacturing teams

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience developing products with strong interactive elements
• Proven track record of designing products and bringing them to market, actively involved in day-to-day design
• Demonstrable knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes
• Experience solving complex problems with engineering and manufacturability constraints
• Fluency in aesthetic decision-making and an eye for detail
• Able to communicate quickly and effectively with hand sketches
• Portfolio or website reflecting your work is required
