Human Resources Manager – Retail Expansion

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will act as a trusted advisor and key partner to people managers and employees within Coach China’s retail team. Based in Shanghai, the role supports the full employee lifecycle and drives HR strategies that enable rapid store expansion and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Retail, Finance and HR leadership to forecast headcount, identify capability gaps and mitigate people‑related risks for new store openings.
• Own end‑to‑end people enablement for new stores, from pre‑open organization set‑up and role mapping to onboarding governance and manager coaching.
• Manage day‑to‑day employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, transfers, promotions, relocations and exits.
• Administer compensation programs, salary adjustments and annual merit processes in collaboration with Total Rewards.
• Drive talent management processes such as talent reviews, succession planning and high‑potential actions to sustain a strong leadership pipeline.
• Provide advisory support on org/role clarity, team effectiveness and retention to strengthen store management succession.
• Facilitate engagement surveys, performance check‑ins and development planning to ensure consistent standards across the store network.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or People Partner in a fast‑growing retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of workforce planning, talent development and employee engagement.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional leaders and influence HR strategy execution.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills to support managers and employees.
