Global Sourcing Buyer - Battery Value Chain and Components

About the role

Renault Beijing Auto is looking for a global sourcing buyer based in Shanghai within the Renault supplier network. The role manages supplier quality, cost and delivery performance for worldwide battery purchasing activities, acting as pilot of the battery value chain and components purchasing in China.

Key responsibilities

• Pilot battery value chain and components purchasing activities in China and manage daily operations for a range of products and suppliers.
• Take part in strategy, sourcing and performance activities for its scope.
• Analyse the supplier market and establish potential supplier contacts.
• Propose and validate the supplier panel in China with the European corporate team.
• Benchmark the Chinese market and support worldwide battery value chain sourcing decisions.
• Build budgets with the cost analysis department before RFQs, analyse offers and negotiate technically and commercially to meet QCD targets.
• Own costing activities (product and process) and present results to influence supplier selection.
• Follow up supplier quality, cost and delivery during project development and throughout mass production.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Strong knowledge of batteries, especially the battery value chain and components, with more than 3 years of experience.
• Business-oriented, able to manage a scope of activity autonomously and proactively.
• Excellent analysis and synthesis skills.
• Fluent English and Mandarin; French is a plus.
