GL Accountant – General Ledger & Tax Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled GL Accountant to manage general ledger accounting, tax compliance, and ERP implementation projects. The role supports monthly financial analysis, cash‑flow forecasting, rolling forecasts, and budget preparation while driving expense control and cost‑saving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily and monthly general ledger entries, including accrued expenses, payables, prepaid expenses, payroll accruals, and tax liabilities.
• Execute periodic (monthly, quarterly, yearly) closing processes and prepare financial statements and reporting packages under PRC GAAP and German GAAP.
• Maintain balance‑sheet review packages, monitor aged items, and lead AR/AP reconciliation to meet targets.
• Calculate and post taxes (VAT, surplus tax, CIT) on a regular basis and develop training materials on new regulations.
• Oversee capex management, inventory booking, cost of sales reporting, and conduct monthly stock‑take reviews.
• Support internal and external audits and contribute to monthly financial analysis and budgeting.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the line manager or finance director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of general ledger experience.
• Familiarity with PRC GAAP, IFRS, PRC tax regulations, and German GAAP reporting requirements.
• CPA qualification preferred.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
