Financial Analyst and Project Controller

About the role

ABB is seeking a Financial Analyst and Project Controller to support its industrial projects and product cost initiatives. The role combines project controlling duties with product cost management, ensuring financial performance aligns with ABB’s lean and clean objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess financial and operational risks for projects, supporting risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and financial plans, tracking spending against approved limits.
• Conduct regular project performance reviews, variance reporting, and post‑project financial analyses.
• Prepare comprehensive project financial reports for management and stakeholders, escalating critical issues as needed.
• Lead the yearly cost planning for a small‑scale manufacturing unit, calculate overhead and labor rates, and update the full cost model.
• Review and validate product standard costs, track changes, and collaborate with product specialists for accuracy.
• Recommend and implement cost‑reduction and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Monitor supplier costs, negotiate contracts, and ensure ERP cost accounting accuracy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams on risk mitigation and cost optimization.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
