Exterior Designer – Creative, Senior, or Lead

About the role

GM China Design Studio is seeking talented Exterior Designers to shape the visual identity, proportion, stance, and emotional character of future vehicles and mobility products for China and global markets. The role can be at Creative, Senior, or Lead level, depending on experience and business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve exterior themes and component designs from early advanced exploration through production execution.
• Create compelling exterior design proposals that reflect customer insights, brand identity, emerging technologies, and new mobility forms.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams across cultures to translate design concepts into feasible vehicle solutions.
• Contribute to both production programs and forward‑looking advanced design projects.

Required profile

• Outstanding design talent with a strong portfolio that showcases design thinking, creative process, visual communication, and exterior design capabilities.
• Ability to work in a collaborative studio environment and contribute distinctive creative perspectives.
• Willingness to comply with confidentiality requirements regarding previous employer projects.
