English Language Learner (ELL) Coach

About the role

The English Language Learner (ELL) Coach works closely with Learning Support Specialists and Academic Counselors to create an inclusive learning environment at Concordia International School Shanghai. The Coach supports identified language learners through co‑teaching or small‑group instruction and delivers professional development for teachers, faculty and parents.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑teach or provide small‑group instruction for ELL students.
• Collaborate with support specialists and counselors to design language‑focused learning experiences.
• Deliver professional development sessions for teachers, grade‑level teams, the entire faculty and parents.
• Utilize assessment data to guide instructional decisions and track student progress.

Required profile

• Degree, license or certificate in supporting language learners (required).
• Minimum two years full‑time experience teaching in an ELL program.
• Native English speaker or near‑native proficiency.
• Master’s or advanced degree preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Aspen, Canvas, Atlas Rubicon and Scholastic Reading Inventory platforms.
• Familiarity with WIDA ELL assessments.
• Ability to analyze data to inform instruction.
