About the role
As a Customer Engineer IV at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers in Shanghai, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues while ensuring high‑quality service.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment, covering electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, applying troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Generate and follow documented procedures and task plans.
- Communicate with customers and internal units, leading projects as needed.
- Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7‑10 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
Required skills
- Advanced mechanical aptitude – pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, thermodynamics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, digital multimeters and wafer processing parameters.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
