Customer Engineer – ETCH (Field Service)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer – ETCH you will be the primary on‑site liaison for Applied Materials’ semiconductor equipment in Shanghai. You will install, maintain, and upgrade complex ETCH systems while providing technical support to customers. The role combines hands‑on service with digital analytics to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer ETCH equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and high service quality.
• Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 4‑7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental, and COVID‑19 protocols.
