Cost Engineer – HVAC Systems

About the role

As a Cost Engineer at Bosch, you will act as a key interface between product owners, project teams and purchasing to drive cost competitiveness across the product lifecycle. You will apply analytical expertise to uncover cost‑saving opportunities and support the development of HVAC solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed component and product cost analyses and benchmark against competitors.
• Lead cost workshops, disassemble parts, and develop bottom‑up cost structures to identify cost drivers.
• Present cost improvement proposals to stakeholders and hand over findings for implementation.
• Support design‑to‑cost activities early in the concept phase, providing transparency and target‑cost inputs.
• Collaborate with purchasing to ensure best‑cost at launch and support negotiations.
• Derive target costs for complex HVAC systems and break them down into modules and components.
• Work in a global, cross‑functional environment, translating technical cost challenges into data‑backed proposals.

Required profile

• Completed degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Diploma) in a technical field or industrial engineering.
• Several years of professional experience in cost analysis, cost management and benchmarking.
• In‑depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems is a plus.
