Communications Lead – China

About the role

Societe Generale is seeking a Communications Lead based in Beijing to shape and execute the communication strategy for its Corporate & Investment Banking activities across Mainland China. The role works closely with the Asia‑Pacific Communications team and local business units to enhance the bank’s visibility and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a China‑wide communication roadmap aligned with regional business priorities.
• Produce high‑quality editorial content that showcases expertise and corporate culture.
• Manage local digital channels, including WeChat and the corporate website, ensuring consistent brand application.
• Lead client, corporate and internal events in partnership with business lines.
• Identify and manage partnerships that reinforce the bank’s brand (culture, sports, inclusion).
• Build and maintain relationships with key media, prepare spokespeople, and drive proactive media engagement.
• Oversee the local communications budget, monitor performance metrics, and ensure compliance with Group policies.
• Coordinate closely with APAC communications teams and external agencies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of corporate communications experience, preferably within financial services.
• Excellent writing and content development skills in both Chinese and English.
• Strong understanding of China’s digital ecosystem, especially WeChat.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with high integrity and attention to detail.
